GIFT OF THE MAGI FEATURES MU STUDENT
Posted by Linda Iseri for December 1, 2012
Hamilton-Gibson Productions presents O. Henry’s delightful holiday tale THE GIFT OF THE MAGI. In this warm-hearted romantic holiday comedy, Della and Jim eagerly await their first Christmas together as a married couple. But times are hard, and both Della and Jim find themselves lacking the money to buy each other a proper Christmas gift. In a strange twist of fate, the two end up finding the perfect gifts for one another—but at an unexpected cost.
The cast features T. J. Maro as Jim and Kara Bowen as Della. Maro will be remembered as the central character B Flat in HG’s SECOND SAMUEL which played last February. An MU student, Maro left an indelible impression on theatre goers and plays Jim with warmth and wit. Bowen is a senior at WAHS and was last seen in HG’s UNBEATABLE. She has also played in numerous WAHS student productions. The cast also includes eight carolers who provide the acapella music throughout the story, and also play the other characters. The carolers are played by Tom Reindl, Meghan Galloway, Drew Bastian, Alice Hakvaag, Katey Pacific, Jeff Sawyer, Karin Knaus, and Deb Sawyer. The play is directed by Thomas Putnam.
