Faculty Feature Concert!
The Mansfield University Symphony Orchestra – Jeff Jacobsen, Artistic Director and Conductor – will present a concert on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 3:00 PM in the Steadman Theater of the Butler Music Building on the campus of Mansfield University. The program will open with Russian Easter Festival (Overture on Liturgical Themes) by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The Concert for Trumpet and Orchestra by Alexandra Pakhmutova, with the trumpet solo played by Dr. Michael Galloway, Mansfield University Music Department Faculty Member. After a brief intermission, the concert will conclude with Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Op. 88 by Antonin Dvorák.
The MU Symphony Orchestra is supported through Student Activities Fees and the concert is free and open to the public. The orchestra will accept charitable donation of winter clothing for “My Neighbors Closet” to help raise funds for educational projects in the area sponsored by “Partners In Progress.”
