The Student Activities Office (SAO) & Multi-Cultural Affairs will feature a Chinese New Year's Celebration on Wednesday, February 6th at 5:30 PM in Upper Manser Dining Hall featuring a Chinese Lion Dance and Martial Arts Demo. The dance is an integral part of Chinese Culture and the Southeast Asian cultures of Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and Malaysia. This group is from the Wong People's Kung Fu School in Washington, DC. This will be an artful, educational, and entertaining dance exhibition and martial arts demonstration. The Lion Dance, is associated with ceremonies both solemn and joyous and is according to legend dating two thousand years ago designed to drive away malevolent spirits. Admission is free for students. If your not on the student meal plan but wish to attend simply check-in with the cash register attendant in Upper Manser and they will give you a compliementary ticket for a free meal. All others simply pay the cost for dinner to attend. Funded by Student Activity Fees.
